CakePHP is a [[programmieren:tools:frameworks|software Framework]] for the programming language PHP (shocker).

It adds alot of functionality one may need to build a Multi Page Application.

CakePHP values convention over configuration (I should totally link a doc I make explaining pros and cons).
So basically the code doing stuff for you without you even having to configure it and just working out the box.

CakePHP works with the [[.:cakephp:mvc|MVC (Model View Controller)]] principle and lets you bake classes for each of those sections.

[[https://book.cakephp.org/bake/3/|Baking in CakePHP]] basically lets you generate boilerplate code that relies on your database and makes models, controllers and views that work together to build a very crude first product that you can build upon.
